A bittersweet love story with an unexpected twist

From the album ‘Dozakh: All Lovers Hell’ the track ‘High’ is a bittersweet love story with an unexpected twist. Shot and produced in January 2020 the release was postponed due to the themes of oppression and police brutality becoming, in Nadia’s own words, ‘painfully relevant’ as the year went on.

We worked towards creating intensity through single-colour wash shots. Using reflection, foliage, fabric and undulating brightness to create dynamic shadows and texture.

On set

Setup of luminaires for each shot sequence. Live DMX control of light parameters during filming. Design of sequences for animated shots. Responding to director feedback and adjusting parameters accordingly.
